Keoladeo National Park is one of Asia’s finest birding areas, with over hundreds of resident and migrant birds. Once a duck-hunting reserve of the Maharajas, Keoladeo now sees a lot of birds such as Cranes, Pelicans, Geese, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints, Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks, Pipits etc.
One of the best option is to hire a bicycle or a rickshaw ride and move around the park. Because of the huge area, it is not possible to walk around. Also, during your visit to the park, ensure you have a good guide to take you around. If you need any help, we will be happy to provide one for you. The guides know where the birds are perched, near which waterbody and on which tree. Indeed, they make a world of difference to experience in Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary.Â
The 29 sq km area of Keoladeo National Park is not only known for birds. It is also a great place to watch mammals like the golden jackal, jungle cat, nilgai, sambar, and wild boar. It’s a treat to watch them move around freely in their natural habitat.Â
