Jodhpur Jaisalmer Bikaner: A journey through the Indian Desert

Day 1Arrival in Jaisalmer: Jaisalmer Fort and Heritage Walk

Arrive at Jaisalmer Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Later, explore Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s few living forts. Its sandstone lanes remain home to families, temples and small shops.

Take a guided heritage walk through the old city and visit Patwon Ki Haveli, a remarkable group of merchant mansions known for their finely carved sandstone façades and balconies.

Day 2Desert Village Excursion, Desert Safari

Begin with a visit to Kuldhara Village, an abandoned 19th-century settlement on the edge of the Thar Desert, known for its evocative stone lanes and local legends.

Return to Jaisalmer to see Gadisar Lake, a historic reservoir framed by temples, ghats and pavilions. Continue to Vyas Chhatri and Bada Bagh, both known for their graceful cenotaphs and open views across the desert landscape.

Later, drive to the dunes for a sunset camel ride. You may also enjoy dune bashing before returning to your desert camp or hotel.

Day 3Drive to Bikaner

After breakfast, leave Jaisalmer and drive to Bikaner through the changing landscapes of the Thar Desert. The journey takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, excluding stops.

On arrival, check in at your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4Junagarh Fort, Camel Research Centre and Jain Temple

Begin at Junagarh Fort, an unusually well-preserved fort that was never built on a hill. Explore its richly decorated courtyards, audience halls, balconies and royal apartments, which reflect several centuries of Bikaner’s history.

Visit the Prachina Museum within the Junagarh Fort complex, where royal costumes, portraits and personal objects offer an insight into the former Bikaner court.

Later, visit the National Research Centre on Camel to learn about India’s desert-adapted camel breeds and their role in the region. Conclude at the 15th-century Bhandasar Jain Temple, admired for its detailed frescoes, painted interiors and red sandstone carvings.

Day 5Drive to Mandawa and Haveli Walk

After breakfast, drive to Mandawa, a historic town in Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region. The journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours.

Later, take a guided walk through Mandawa’s old streets, known for their richly painted havelis and heritage buildings. These former merchant homes preserve elaborate frescoes depicting mythology, courtly life and scenes from everyday Rajasthan.

Day 6Transfer to Jaipur

After breakfast, leave Mandawa and drive to Jaipur, Rajasthan’s vibrant capital city. The journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours.

On arrival, check in at your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7Amer Fort, Jaipur Stepwell and Elephant Sanctuary

Begin your Jaipur sightseeing at the magnificent Amer Fort, the former capital of the Kachhwaha rulers. Explore its courtyards, royal apartments and the glittering Sheesh Mahal, whose walls are inlaid with thousands of small mirrors.

Continue to Panna Meena Ka Kund, a beautifully symmetrical stepwell near Amer. Later, visit an ethical elephant sanctuary, where you can observe the animals respectfully in their natural surroundings and learn about their care.

Visit Gatore Ki Chhatriyan, the elegant cenotaphs of Jaipur’s former rulers, then stop at Jal Mahal, the palace set in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Spend the evening at leisure.

A Glimpse of Your Jaisalmer Trip Package

Why Choose INDIA Trotter for a Jodhpur Jaisalmer Bikaner Tour Itinerary

Building an Offbeat Desert Route

INDIA Trotter plans each bikaner jaisalmer tour around desert heritage, living culture, old towns and the slower rhythm of western Rajasthan.

Connecting the Desert Cities Properly

A jodhpur jaisalmer bikaner route needs careful transfer planning because the distances are long and the experience depends on good pacing.

Designing the Itinerary Around Culture

A strong jodhpur jaisalmer bikaner tour itinerary should include more than forts. We add local crafts, village moods and heritage details where appropriate.

Making Jaisalmer the Right Kind of Stay

A tour package for jaisalmer should balance the fort, havelis, desert light and quieter local experiences.

Creating a Better Desert Holiday

Choose INDIA Trotter for a jaisalmer trip package that feels private, atmospheric and carefully connected with the wider Rajasthan route.

Designed for Comfort, Privacy and Better Pacing

Our team approaches the package for Jaisalmer as a private luxury tour, with space for comfort, smoother logistics, expert guides and personal travel preferences.
