The airport in Lakshadweep Islands, the Agatti Airport,is one of the best in the world. As you land on the Agatti airport, which is Lakshadweep only airport, rather an airstrip, you can see the turquoise green waters on either side of the small aircraft. It’s a narrow strip of land located in the island of Agatti. Each day a small Air India aircraft (AI 9505) originating from Bangalore at 6:55 AM reaches the Agatti airport at 10:05 AM, after a half-an-hour hop in at Kochi. So, tourists willing to visit Lakshadweep can either take the flight from Bangalore or Cochin.
However, there is no place to stay in Agatti by Lakshadweep tourism. So, you should be aware of any such agents offering to provide you accommodation in Agatti.
So, once you land on Agatti airport, a car will take you to the jetty. Then from the jetty, one of the Lakshadweep Island location, namely, Thinakara, Bangaram, Kadmat or Kavaratti Island and stay in Beach Resorts there, owned and governed by Lakshadweep Tourism. Before you land you have to final the entire Lakshadweep Tour Itinerary as you would be strictly issued the permits based by Lakshadweep tourism based on the duration of stay in each of the islands.
