Centuries back the region was ruled by Kings, more specifically the Rajputs, who built some grand structures in the form of forts and palaces. Today, all those architectural wonders, which are preserved and maintained, are a feast to the eyes of the tourists.
There are quite a few cities that are noted for the forts and palaces. Jaipur, which is the capital of Rajasthan and part of the famous Golden Triangle Circuit is the most visited of all. One of the main reasons is the nearness to the Capital of India, Delhi. Other cities are Udaipur, Jodhpur, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and many others.
