Top 10 Things to Pack Before you Travel

Here is a checklist of some important things which can make your travel more comfortable.

 

  1. The clothes – Depending upon your travel style, please pack clothes accordingly. But always carry one extra set of clothes and at least one set of clothes which fully covers you from top to bottom. 
  2. Shoes – Always carry at least one pair of sensible walking shoes. As you don’t want bunions the next day.
  3. Toiletries – All hotels do provide basic toothbrush, paste, shaving cream, razor and all but in case traveling to remote places do check that you have packed these essentials.
  4. Mosquito Repellent – Though the hotels would be mosquito-free, but the outside environment can’t be controlled.
  5. Straw Hats – To save yourself from heat please carry straw hats.
  6. Sunglasses – A must while traveling and helps in getting better pictures also.
  7. Medicines – Basic medicines for cold, cough, stomach issues, bandaid and paracetamol should be handy while travelling.
  8. Universal Waterproof Phone case – This not only saves the phone from water but also from dust.
  9. Copies of travel documents – Scan and keep a copy of all travel documents in your phone or email.
  10. Check the restrictions on travel baggage – It is always advisable to check how much baggage you would be allowed, traveling via a flight. Typically it would be 15kgs check-in baggage and 7 kg hand baggage.
  11. Hand Sanitizer – To keep yourself away from infection, keep hand sanitizer handy.
  12. Snacks– Always keep a bag of nuts, biscuits, fruits or any other high energy food handy for snacking while traveling.
  13.  Cash –  Though ATM’s are handy, but always carry a small change of money in case ATM’s are not working.  
  14.  International Travel Chargers – This is a must, as nobody travels without a phone today and every country has different electrical requirements.
  15. Travel Documents and ID Proof – Please ensure all your travel documents are in place and at least one ID proof is also there.

 

Now one of the most important things for travelers with kids. Do carry their favorite toy or anything else which keeps them busy.

 

Last but not the least, please ensure that all electrical appliances are switched off before you leave your house.

Essential Hindi Words and Phrases For Foreigners Traveling To India

India is a huge country with diverse terrain where the population speaks many languages including Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, and Urdu. The languages, Hindi and English are designated as the official languages of India, as these are used for most of the government and official communications throughout the country.

English is understood and spoken by a limited people. Those people belong to metropolitan cities, but India is more about villages than cities. Moreover, knowing a few essential Hindi words and phrases would help foreigners in India to negotiate with the vendors as they generally try selling things to foreigners at a very high cost.

Hampi is an ancient village in the south Indian state of Karnataka. It’s dotted with numerous ruined temple complexes from the Vijayanagara Empire. On the south bank of the River Tungabhadra is the 7th-century Hindu Virupaksha Temple, near the revived Hampi Bazaar. A carved stone chariot stands in front of the huge Vittala Temple site.
