Amer Fort and Palace

Amber Fort, also known as Amer Fort : Constructed of red sandstone and marble, the attractive, this opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with a courtyard. Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. It was the main residence of the celebrated Rajput kings and their families. The fort is famed for its architectural brilliance.  You can take an elephant ride, which takes you to the entrance of the Amber Fort.

City Palace of Jaipur

The Jaipur Palace was established at the same time as the city of Jaipur, by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who moved his court to Jaipur from Amber, in 1727. This was built as a residence for the royal families. The Jaipur palace has a sequence of gardens, buildings, courtyards, temples and museums, which gives it a grand view and reflects the historical importance and magnificent royal grace.

Hawa Mahal

This marvelous architecture is constructed of red and pink sandstone. This palace was built for the royal women to get a glimpse of the daily events. Apart from the daily events, they would also watch the royal processions and festivals.

The amazing ventilation that the palace enjoys is the reason why it was named as the Hawa Mahal. It literally translates into the “Palace of the Winds”.  This palace is decorated with 953 windows or ‘Jharokhas’ which are adorned with intricate designs. It is best viewed early in the morning, when the golden rays of the Sun fall on this royal building giving it a more elegant and gorgeous look.

Jal Mahal

Located amid the beautiful Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, Jal Mahal is a five storied building. Of the five stories, four floors remain under water when the lake is full. In the evenings, when the palace gets illuminated with thousands of flood lights reflecting on the waters of the lake, the sight really captivates your hearts and souls.

Jantar Mantar Observatory

This astronomical observatory established by the king Sawai Jai Singh have International importance in Jaipur tourism. These instruments were called Jantar Mantar, which means Calculating Instrument. The largest of these instruments is located in Jaipur and has been declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There are 14 structures in total, which measure time, predict eclipses, and track stars. Best time of the day to visit Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is noon. During mid-day, the Sun is vertically above and it is easy to understand the process of interpretation of the readings of each instrument.

Chowki Dhani

It is an ethnic village resort offering one of the finest ways to discover the true art, culture and tradition of the state Rajasthan. Also known as ‘Victory Fort’, the fort stands preserved with palaces, granary, canon foundry, many temples, a tower but the main attraction of the Jaigarh Fort is the Jaivana which houses the world’s largest cannon on the wheels.
