Udaipur City Palace

Udaipur City Palace, which is one of the most iconic architectures in Rajasthan, was built about 400 years back. In fact, it was built over a period of time by several rulers of the Mewar dynasty. Lake Pichola

Lake Pichola, which is an artificial fresh water lake, was created in the year 1362 AD. Not known to many, it is named after the nearby Picholi village. In fact, it is one of the several contiguous lakes, and developed over the last few centuries in and around the famous Udaipur city. As any tourist would notice, two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir are located within Pichola Lake, and have been developed with several palaces to provide views of the lake.

There are four islands on the lake:

Jag Niwas, which is where the Lake Palace is built.
Jag Mandir, Which is the name of the palace.
Mohan Mandir, from where the king would watch the annual Gangaur festival celebration.
Arsi Vilas, a small island which not only has an ammunition depot, but also a small palace.

Bagore Ki Haveli

Far away from the hustle and bustle of a city, Bagore Ki Haveli is a museum and a cultural center as well. The Haveli, which is known for its architectural splendor, is a massive structure that now offers a peek inside the royal life of the Maharajas and the Maharanis. This grand structure, which has 100 rooms has a fine decoration with mirror work in each room. The antique collection includes the stuff used by Rajputs such as jewelry boxes, hand fans, copper vessels and so on, which surely are reminiscent of one glorious era.
